Company announcement
Investment of Olavion (UNIMOT Group) in RBP
We would like to inform you that the Polish company Olavion Sp. z o.o., a member of the UNIMOT Group, has signed agreements to acquire 60 % of the shares in RBP Rheinische Bahnpersonal- und Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH. Completion of the transaction is subject to the usual conditions precedent.
RBP has been working closely and in a spirit of trust with Olavion for some time. Against this background, the investment is a logical next step to put our company on a stable footing for the long term and to open up additional prospects for growth.
For our customers, partners and employees, one thing is particularly important:
Nothing changes. RBP remains RBP.
I will continue to serve as Managing Director of RBP and will continue to run the company operationally as before. The organisation, decision-making processes, contact persons and the identity of RBP will remain in place.
The aim of the investment is to develop RBP further with a well-capitalised, strategic partner and to strengthen our position in the German market for the long term. In the future, the cooperation will open up additional opportunities in European rail freight transport, in particular through cooperation with other railway undertakings.
The UNIMOT Group is a listed Polish group with activities in energy, LPG, fuels and lubricants, logistics and infrastructure. The group's well-known brands include the AVIA filling station network, which is present across Europe. As a subsidiary of the UNIMOT Group, Olavion operates in European rail freight transport.
RBP holds a licence as a railway undertaking in Germany only. Activities in Europe take place exclusively within the framework of cooperation with other licensed railway undertakings.
In 2025, RBP celebrates its 10th anniversary. We see Olavion's investment as an important step to safeguard the substance built up over the past years and to lay the foundation for sustainable further development.
